Personally I think joharbi has quite a high weightage to gold. unless joharbi goes in when the price is low, or else i think gold is at quite a high price, even though the price has gone down a bit.
i also think money market fund is redundant since you already have high cash/FD weightage, unless you want to use MM fund as temp fund to park your $.
I personally prefer to invest in M-REIT rather than any REIT UT funds. i invested in REIT UT funds before, but have to cut loss few years back and invested in M-REIT. since then have been making some good profits in M-REIT as compared to REIT UT funds.

I have been seeing a trend that many people are buying into AmPrecious or OSK-UOB Gold and general funds. The mining companies have not been performing well even though the Gold price is high.
Apparently these 2 funds are the worst performing funds since past 3 years, do you all think the fund could a rebound sharply?
I am considering to buy into these funds...

Apparently all the global bond / fixed income is doing quite badly currently..The yield does not look very good. It seems Amdymaic bond still outperforms all countries when it comes to bond.

AmDynamic Bond past record is good.. future maybe good oso but may not be as good as past i think.
I start to look for other bond , if want to play high yield bond , i think osk-uob emerging markets quite interesting... still thinking whether want to give it a try

Bonds can be denominated in local currency or USD. Korea for example can issue bond in USD or in Won.
Do think carefully whether you can stomach the forex volatility. Few scenarios can happen, but in a nutshell, if RM appreciates against other currencies, bond values depreciate.
Also, short term bonds are less sensitive to interest rate movements.
Personally i feel that bond movements are harder to catch than equity.

OSK-UOB Emerging market bond ANybody wants to consider this fund? This fund performed even better than Amdynamic bond
It has got 5% returns in just 3 months!
I am considering it as oversea bonds have higher return and secondary market value than Malaysian bonds.

I am currently favour on oversea markets like Asia and China now. I think they have much higher potential than our own malaysian market as it is pretty peaked now.
The only local funds that i own is bond funds.. which provides pretty good return. But i am also considering the OSK-UOB emerging market bonds as it seems to provide pretty good returns.
I think my portfolio is exposed to almost 90% oversea markets.. lol
