For those who have been wanting to invest but were put off by the volatile markets, the best way to overcome this fear is by gradually entering the market and with Fundsupermart’s newly launched monthly regular savings plan (RSP) feature available now, you can do just that.

What is a RSP?

RSP is a monthly subscription plan that enables you to invest a fixed amount of money at regular intervals into a particular fund.

There are many benefits of having a RSP and the one that is most attractive is that RSP utilises the dollar cost averaging concept of investing, which is the practice of investing a fixed amount of money regularly regardless of market conditions. By investing a fixed amount on a monthly basis, you accumulate more units when prices are low but lesser when prices of units are high. Thus, a lot of stress is avoided as you do not have to decide whether the fund is expensive or not and whether the market condition is suitable to invest.

The DCA is a strategy that works well in a uncertain market environments, such as the current as many investors are unsure whether it is the right time to invest, thus gradual purchases are a better bet than investing a large sum at one go. Investors can average down their costs when markets move down and if markets move up, you would be best positioned because you have already invested. For more information about the DCA, read the Dollar Cost Averaging Method article written by our Research Team.

How Do I Apply for RSP?

To apply for RSP, please proceed to REGULAR SAVINGS PLAN-> APPLY.

Investors are required to have an initial investment for the particular fund before starting the RSP. Please note that the minimum amount by cash holdings and not other payment methods as RSP only allow cash deductions from Cash Management Fund. Also, the minimum monthly investment amount for RSP depends on the individual funds.
