We have invited professionals from the asset management industry, namely Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad, BIMB Investment Management Berhad, Inter-Pacific Asset Management Sdn Bhd, and KAF Investment Funds Berhad to join us for an important discussion/seminar, scoping onto Malaysia’s economic prospects post-election.


Our aim is to present information and actions that investors can understand and implement in their investment portfolios.
Some of the highlights of the discussion/seminar include:

  • Outlook on Malaysia post election
  • How should investors position their funds?
  • How would the development of the recent geopolitical issues affect Malaysia's economy and subsequently, its equity market (small, mid, and big caps)?
  • What should investors do now?


The panel discussion in Kuala Lumpur
will be moderated by Fundsupermart General Manager, Wong Weiyi and include panelists from BIMB Investment Management Berhad, Inter-Pacific Asset Management Sdn Bhd, and KAF Investment Funds Berhad.


The seminar in Penang
will be presented by Affin Hwang Asset Management Berhad.


These professionals will share their ideas and insights on what it essentially means for investors considering the General Election 14 that will take place on the 9th of May 2018.

Wong Wei Yi - Moderator

Weiyi is currently the General Manager at Fundsupermart.com Malaysia. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Head of Investment at finexis advisory Pte Ltd., one of the largest independent financial advisory companies in Singapore. Prior to his stint at finexis advisory, he was a Research Manager leading the Research teams in Singapore and Malaysia at iFAST Financial Pte Ltd. He graduated from Nanyang Business School with First Class Honours. He is also a CFA charterholder.

Equity Fund Manager of BIMB Investment Management Berhad

Stanley Thong joined BIMB Invest as a Fund Manager in 2012. He has more than 10 years of working experience in equity research and investment. He was previously attached with UOB-OSK Asset Management Berhad and Hong Leong Assurance Berhad. As a fund manager at UOB-OSK Asset Management, he was in charge of managing various unit trust and investment link insurance funds for clients. He is the designated fund manager for BIMB Dana Al-Munsif, BIMB iDividend Fund, BIMB i Flexi Fund and BIMB Arabesque Malaysia Shariah-ESG Equity Fund.

Stanley holds Masters of Commerce, Macquarie University, Australia, Bachelor of Business Administration, National Cheng Chi University, Taiwan and Capital Markets Services Representative’s License.

Lim Tze Cheng - Panelist
Chief Executive Officer of Inter-Pacific Asset Management Sdn Bhd


Lim Tze Cheng is Chief Executive Officer of Inter-Pacific Asset Management. In his previous attachments, he has played the role of Head of Equity and Head of research in various asset management houses. Tze Cheng holds a First Class Honours degree in Accounting from University of Malaya and is a Chartered Accountant. He has more than 13 years of experience in equity research and in the fund management industry, specialising in the ASEAN region.

Tan Gan Leong - Panelist
(Designated fund manager for KAF Tactical Fund, KAF Jade Fund, KAF Dana Alif and KAF Islamic Dividend Income Fund)

Tan Gan Leong is a CFA Charterholder and possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Marketing from Monash University, Australia. He joined KAF Investment Funds Berhad (KAF IF) in 2013 as an investment analyst tasked with research responsibilities for both the Malaysian and Hong Kong market. Prior to joining KAF IF, he spent several years working as a business development executive in the manufacturing industry.

Vincent Siau

Vincent was re-designated as Chief Sales and Regional Officer on 1st January 2017. He oversees and is responsible for the Institution, Corporate and HNWI Business, Regional Business, Partnership Business and Private Retirement Scheme. His key role is in the strategic planning and development of necessary sales strategies for achieving the company’s objectives.

Throughout his tenure with Affin Hwang Asset Management, Vincent was the Head of Retail & Partnership Business where he was instrumental in building the retail channels and developing the partnership businesses. He was also Head of Institutional Business for 6 years, growing the institutional and corporate business.

Vincent studied and is trained in the field of management accounting and marketing, has over 20 years of experience in financial services industry, specifically in share trading and investment account servicing. He is a Capital Markets Services Representative's Licence (“CMSRL”) holder for fund management, a Shariah Registered Financial Planner (“RFP”) and a Certified Financial Planner.
