Johor Seminar: Diversifying Assets through Listed Alternatives + 2018 Asia Pacific and Malaysia Outlook

Diversifying assets through the world of listed alternatives

In light of lower equity returns and fixed income yields being further compressed by the vast amounts of liquidity, investors are stretched to further allocate further up the risk curve into higher risk asset classes for the search of better returns. While, there are a number of asset classes with attractive return prospects but different return drivers, combining these in a diversified portfolio leads to returns coming through more consistently vs single asset allocation. Aberdeen Standard’s approach of diversifying assets via asset class diversification is not only able to provide investors regular growth, but also exposure to a vast range of listed alternative assets such as property, aircraft leasing, p2p lending and litigation financing. Explore how you can have exposure to these asset classes from Marc Chow, Senior Business Development Manager of Aberdeen Standard Investments in this event.

Crouching Bears Charging Bulls - 2018 Asia Pacific and Malaysia Outlook

Despite a great year for equities in 2017, Eastspring Investments Berhad believes 2018 should still prove to be a good year to be invested in equities as the positives (charging bulls) still far outweigh the negatives (crouching bears). Drivers such as synchronised global growth, growing corporate earnings and high liquidity continue to underpin equities. Within regions, they continue to favour northern Asia, such as China/Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea where price earnings to growth (PEG) remains attractive in their view. Find out more from Lai Eu Roy, Fund Manager, Equities of Eastspring Investments Berhad.
