Understanding Colorectal & Stomach Cancer
by KPJ Penang Specialist Hospital

When we experience discomfort or pain in our stomach, most of us assume that it could be gastric, stomach ache, or wind. However, there could be a number of conditions that can affect our stomach and cause discomfort such as stomach ulcers, gallstones, or cancer, which can lead to serious complications. Then there is the colorectal cancer, which is the most common cancer among men and the second most common among women in Malaysia at a prevalence of 13.2%, as reported in the Malaysian National Cancer Registry Report (2007 - 2011). Find out from Dr. Wan Najmi Wan Daud, Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgeon, KPJ Penang Specialist Hospital, about the symptoms, causes, risk, prevention and treatment for colorectal and stomach cancer.
