Cardiovascular disease, which causes heart attacks and other problems like strokes, is one of the leading causes of death in Malaysia. The worrying part is Malaysians are getting heart attacks at a younger age than people in other countries. So, it is important to learn about the causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment for heart disease and make some lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk of heart disease and improve overall health and well-being.

SPEAKER's BIOGRAPHY

Dr Goh Eng Leong, Cardiologist & Physician
B.Sc.(Med), M.D.(UKM), M.Med (S'pore), MRCP(UK), FNHAM, AM

Dr Goh Eng Leong is a Resident Consultant Cardiologist at Loh Guan Lye Specialists Centre in Penang, Malaysia. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Malaysia and his master degree in internal medicine (MMed) from National University of Singapore. He subsequently did his cardiology fellowship at Cardiology Department of Penang Hospital. He also pursued his interventional cardiology training at Mater Hospital, Dublin, Ireland.

Dr Goh Eng Leong is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom (MRCP) and a Fellow of the National Heart Association of Malaysia (FNHAM). He is also a member of Academy of Malaysia. He is a National Specialists Registry (NSR) certified Interventional Cardiologist.

He provides various cardiac treatment, including non-invasive (stress test, ECG. Echocardiography, Holter) and invasive (coronary angiogram and percutaneous coronary intervention). Currently he is head of cardiac unit in Loh Guan Lye Specialists Centre.

Yeap Kar Chun
Bond Dealer, Fixed Income Division

Based in Malaysia, Kar Chun joined the company in May 2015 as a research analyst covering funds and Malaysian equity market. He then joined the company’s Fixed Income Division as a bond dealer in January 2017 and is responsible for dealing bonds and providing advice on investing in bonds. He holds a Bachelor degree in Finance from the University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). He obtained his PKMC license in 2017 from the Financial Markets Association Malaysia, and has passed Level II of the CFA® program.

Anson Tan Kai Chun
Research Analyst, Fixed Income Division

Mr. Anson Tan is currently a fixed income research analyst of iFAST Capital Sdn Bhd whereby he is responsible for conducting research and analysing bonds. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Investment from the Tunku Abdul Rahman University College. He is an associate member of Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a professional qualification awarded by Financial Planning Association of Malaysia since year 2014. Also, he obtained his Capital Markets and Services Representative License in year 2017 from the Securities Commission Malaysia and has passed his Level I examination in the CFA® program.
