GETTING STARTED WITH BOND INVESTMENT

“Not to put all our eggs into one basket” is an advice that we always hear when it comes to investing. In order to avoid concentration risk in our investment portfolio, we will need to diversify the risks by investing into different asset classes. While some of you may already be familiar with bond funds, it is also important for you to explore investing in bonds, on top of your unit trust and stock investment.

Speaker’s Biography

Jeff Ooi Jun Fong
Bond Dealer, Fixed Income Division

Mr. Jeff is currently a bond dealer of iFAST Capital Sdn Bhd whereby he is responsible for dealing bonds and providing advice for investing in bonds. Prior to this, he was a Treasury Dealer in Public Bank Berhad, dealing in foreign exchange, money market instruments, and derivatives. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Finance from the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) with First Class Honours. He obtained the Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia Certificate, a professional qualification jointly awarded by ACI-Financial Market Association of Malaysia and the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) in year 2016. Also, he obtained his Capital Markets and Services Representative License in 2017 from the Securities Commission Malaysia and is currently a 2017 Level I candidate in the CFA® program.
